Bursting with a powerful flair for hairdressing, Jackie's brilliant cuts are sought after by fashion-forward Washingtonians with style on their minds. Having been with the Lab since our inception, she is the in-house educator and a driving force in our hairdressing culture. Jackie's warmth and vision make her a leading stylist and an illuminating member of our staff.
KC received her education at Graham Webb and apprenticed under internationally renowned Toni & Guy stylist Pam Baumgartner. After working for the last several years in Florida, KC has brought her talents back to the district. With her precision-based cutting style KC brings a fresh, clean, approach to her hairdressing, event styling, and session work. KC's innovative styles are ideal for the client looking for a unique but versatile cut.
Born into a family of hairdressers, Kelly has been completely submerged in the industry since the age of seventeen. Kelly's travels as a Toni & Guy art team member have allowed him to train under, as well teach beside, some of the top hairdressers in the world, including three time "British Hairdresser of the Year" award winner Anthony Mascolo. With definitive exposure in print, Kelly has graced the pages of countless magazines and was recognized by Lucky magazine as one of the top hairdressers in the Washington, DC region.
Liana completed her initial education at Graham Webb and finished her advanced training under the Urban Style Lab educational team. Liana used her time here at the Lab to master her cutting technique, learning how to manipulate hair to produce fashion-forward results. With an eye for hip hair, she is sought after for her brilliantly layered shapes. Liana has quickly become a vital member of our team by committing herself to progressive fashion.
After entering the industry at an early age, Melanie quickly established herself as one of the premier hairdressers in Washington. Her innate sense of style and fashion have led her to be requested by many musicians and bands from the likes of O.A.R. and Army of Me. Her work has been featured in print and media, such as Fox's "Ambush Makeover". Melanie specializes in soft flowing care-free shapes suited for daily living. As a co-owner of Urban Style Lab Melanie is a guiding light in the future of hair in the District.
Melissa received her training under the masterful Carmine Minardi at his salon on Madison Ave in New York City. There she spent the first seven years of her career honing her skills and becoming a major player in the New York hairdressing scene. Melissa spent several years on the Minardi educational team traveling the country giving seminars on chemical processing and hairstyling before moving to the district. Melissa is a talented stylist specializing in chemical services with an emphasis on the hair's health and manageability. Her work has appeared in Martha Stewarts Weddings, Sophisticates hairstyling, Modern Salon and other magazine and television sources.
A transplant from Greece, Soel received his initial education at world-renowned Toni & Guy Paris and London. Soel began his career at distinguished Dino and Gino salon. He then moved the Lush Salon in Beverly Hills, where he quickly started to gather acclaim by styling hair for fashion shows, popular bands, and MTV. He has since become a top player here in Washington, D.C., specializing in sophisticated mens cuts.
Colorists
Claudia is a passionate and committed professional, not to mention one of the premier colorists around. Allure magazine said of her work, "We saw that her color alone is worth a thousand words- all of them synonyms for beautiful." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. She has also appeared on TLC's "The Makeover Story," and has since acquired countless other acclaim. Claudia's dedication to ongoing training keeps her at the forefront of the hair coloring industry and up to date on all the current trends.
After spending her early years at suburban powerhouse, Ronnie Elias, Kerry migrated to Washington, D.C. to make a name for herself. Kerry found a home here at the Lab and quickly established a growing clientele. With her vision for soft subtleties and dazzling color work, she is a substantial member of our chemical team. Kerry is a must for the discerning client seeking superior dimensional color.
Raised in the business, it was no surprise that Sertac found his calling in the hairdressing industry. He spent the first twelve years of his career doing hair at his family's salon, George at the Four Seasons, and has since become an integral part of our chemical team here at the Lab. Overflowing with character, Sertac provides an unequivocal experience while delivering some of the most sought after color in the region. The A-list of D.C.'s political and television scene has profound respect for his unmatched chemical talents. Sertac has also caught the attention of the press, having been featuring in such publications as Allure and Washingtonian Magazine.
